Main Characteristics & Effects: A trichloroacetic acid, also known as trichloroacetate or TCA, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alpha-halocarboxylic acids. TCA causes protein coagulation and cell necrosis, this initiates the wound cascade and remodelling. It removes dead skin cells and stimulates new skin cell growth.
